About
It all started in the early '90s at a classical radio station in Maine. I began my VO career writing & voicing commercial ad copy for local business clients to create a new 'word of mouth' advertising buzz in a small, print-heavy market. It was the era of the 'big announcer' radio voice- a style that didn't always fit the vibe of my clients. To create ad campaigns that felt more next-door-friendly, I began voicing the ads myself- taking a more conversational 'pop-on-by', spontaneous approach than most mainstream radio ads. This relatable approach helped to humanize the businesses, and they started seeing results in our small-town market. People began mentioning the commercials, and we were off and running.
After my years in radio, I took a PR & event sales job that led to a 30-year career as a wedding officiant, consultant, and event coordinator- keeping a few freelance commercial voiceover clients on the side.
