About
James D. Jackson, Jr. honed his relatable, yet authoritative speaking voice teaching in the classroom, preaching behind the pulpit, coaching on the sidelines, and announcing Friday Night football games from the press box. With clarity and strength, James’s voice captures and maintains the attention of his listeners whether he’s behind the mic or simply reading a children’s book to a group of children.
Despite being a native Arkansan raised in Texas, James’s southern accent was tempered through his early developmental years living in the northeastern United States. His accent was further refined as an adult living on both coasts, in western Wyoming, and in suburban Iowa. This enables James to speak with a more generalized American accent, but he can certainly pour on the comforting charm of his Southern roots, or stir up the gritty twang of his “good-ole-boy” cowboy buddies. James is comfortable conversing with scholars in the halls of academia as well as with farmers down at the local feed and supply store. Additionally, as an Army veteran and a former Texas football coach, James understands the importance of teamwork and working together successfully toward a common goal.
In the shadows of some of the biggest ranches in Texas (Four Sixes, Wagonner’s, and Pitchfork to name a few), James and his wife, Jill, currently live in Benjamin, Texas. Outside of his professional-grade home studio, his leisure pursuits include running, jamming on the drums in a few local bands, writing, and playing golf. With his life experience as wide as a West Texas sunset, you can depend on James to be the voice for your project’s adventurous journey.
